For the second time in 2024, Taskforce Kiwi is undertaking simultaneous international disaster relief deployments, this time responding to requests for wildfire relief support in Alberta, Canada, and Hawaii, USA.

As New Zealand based disaster relief group Taskforce Kiwi closes out its second year of operations, an initial rotation of skilled volunteers has departed for Hawaii to support with wildfire recovery on the island of Maui.

The town of Wairoa has once again felt the effects of severe weather and heavy rainfall as flooding recently impacted hundreds of homes and local infrastructure.

Two months after a bushfire burned through sections of the North Canterbury town of Loburn, the community is set to receive support from TFK.

Volunteers have experienced their busiest Summer season to date, with multiple simultaneous operational deployments undertaken in Australia, Morocco, Vanuatu, and now at home in Aotearoa New Zealand.

A team of seven Taskforce Kiwi volunteers have returned from a two week deployment to Nova Scotia, Canada, where they provided direct support to Team Rubicon Canada following Nova Scotia's devastating wildfires in May.
